Dr. Rosemarie (Rose) Ramos joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in October 2014 and serves as the Assistant Director of Research.

Dr. Ramos received her Ph.D. and Master of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. In 2005, Rose was selected as an NIH Health Disparities Post-Doctoral Scholar and conducted research at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Rose also completed health services research training in Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine. From 2009 - 2010, worked with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District to establish the San Antonio A1C Registry; the first-ever population-wide chronic disease surveillance program in South Texas. Most recently, Dr. Ramos held the position as Senior Scientist for the Air Force Medical Service where she served as co-Investigator on several emergency medicine, en-route care, and chronic disease research projects as well as a research mentor to active-duty medical residents and fellows during their clinical research rotations. Dr. Ramos has over 10 years' experience developing and managing various cross-disciplinary research projects in the areas of clinical, operational medicine, and population health.
